Trees for Ecotourism

Planting Native Trees for a Greener Uttarakhand

Trees for Ecotourism is an environmental restoration initiative being implemented in Uttarakhand by Eco Jeevan Foundation, in partnership with Grow-Trees and NVIDIA.

Under the project, approximately 1,00,000 native trees are being planted across selected landscapes of Uttarakhand to strengthen local ecosystems and contribute to greener and more sustainable tourism destinations.

The project follows a comprehensive approach to plantation and ecological restoration. Our work includes:

• Nursery development and raising of native saplings
• Site preparation and pit digging
• Plantation of native tree species
• Tree protection and regular aftercare
• Maintenance and survival monitoring
• Community participation and local engagement
• Supporting long-term ecological restoration of plantation areas

The initiative aims not only to increase green cover but also to support biodiversity, soil conservation, water security and the ecological health of Uttarakhand’s landscapes.

By restoring native vegetation around ecotourism landscapes, the project seeks to create greener destinations while contributing to the long-term sustainability of the environment and local communities.

• Target: 1,00,000+ Native Trees
• Location: Uttarakhand
